How do you say that I don’t want to do the blood test? I don’t wanna know what stage on that. I don’t wanna go to neurologist I just want to change my diet drink more water and that God handle it in God‘s hands. I’m not gonna spend the last of my days going to the doctors because I already know I’m in public end stages because of my symptoms and I’m not gonna spend my last day and now I’m gonna go live life to the fullest I like every day is my last day

Diana, your nephrologist will be able to tell your stage after a few months of blood tests.

What is stage 4 kidney disease?

Stage 4 kidney disease means your kidneys have severe damage and aren't filtering waste from your blood efficiently. At this stage, your estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is between 15 and 29, indicating significant loss of kidney function.

This is the stage right before kidney failure (stage 5). Your kidneys are working poorly, and waste products are building up in your body, which can cause serious health problems.

What symptoms might you notice?

Common symptoms at stage 4 include:

* Changes in urination frequency
* Foamy or bubbly urine
* Severe fatigue and weakness
* Swelling in arms, legs, and face
* Nausea, vomiting, and poor appetite
* Muscle cramps
* Itchy skin
* Lower back pain
* Confusion or brain fog
* Shortness of breath

What does this mean for your health?

Stage 4 kidney disease can lead to related complications like anemia, bone disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, and acidic blood. Your nephrologist will need to monitor your blood and urine closely to watch for these issues.

The good news is that with proper management and treatment, many people can slow progression and maintain quality of life. Taking your treatment plan seriously at this stage is critical.
