How much water should you drink with stage 3b kidney disease?

The right amount of fluid for you depends on your individual situation, and it's really important to talk with your nephrologist about this. They understand your specific kidney function and can give you personalized guidance.

With stage 3b kidney disease, your kidneys have moderate damage and may not handle excess fluid as well as they used to. Some people need to limit fluids to prevent buildup, while others may not need restrictions yet.

Your doctor will consider factors like:
- Your current kidney function (eGFR level)
- Whether you have swelling or high blood pressure
- Your urine output
- Any other health conditions you have

Don't guess on this one — fluid intake is something your healthcare team needs to help you figure out based on your blood test results and symptoms. If you haven't heard back from your doctor yet, it's worth following up with their office to get clear guidance on your daily fluid limits.
