Is anyone else experiencing dangerously low blood pressure at night, sometimes passing out while using the bathroom?

First and most importantly β€” passing out, even briefly, is a medical emergency. A blood pressure of 70/50 is critically low and needs immediate attention. Please contact a doctor or go to the emergency room right away if this happens again. With kidney disease, the kidneys struggle to properly regulate fluid and sodium balance, which can directly affect blood pressure. This can cause dangerous dips, especially at night or when standing up suddenly.

Some things worth discussing urgently with a nephrologist include:

- Fluid and sodium imbalance caused by reduced kidney function
- Medications β€” some kidney-related medications can lower blood pressure as a side effect
- Dehydration β€” not drinking enough fluids can cause blood pressure to drop
- Dialysis adjustments if applicable, as dialysis can sometimes affect blood pressure

Other MyKidneyDiseaseTeam members have shared experiences with fatigue, tingling, and feeling unwell β€” but passing out is a serious step beyond that and really does need urgent medical review.

Please don't wait on this one. πŸ’™
