My Nephrologist has told me to make sure I’m drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and to check my blood pressure every day to make sure it’s good. All my bloodwork came back normal. I’m just confused how I was supposed to feel, but I do have pain in my back in my kidney area. I’m tired all the time no matter how much Sleep I get.
What are some of the symptoms that you have? Maybe I can compare and how I’m supposed to feel.

It's completely understandable to feel confused — CKD stage 3 can be tricky because symptoms vary so much from person to person. Some people feel very little, while others notice quite a bit. The fact that your bloodwork came back normal is genuinely good news!

The back pain and fatigue you're experiencing are actually very common symptoms at stage 3. Here are symptoms that many people with stage 3 CKD report:

- Fatigue or weakness — feeling tired no matter how much you rest
- Lower back or flank pain — especially near the kidney area
- Swelling in the face, hands, or feet
- Changes in urination — going more or less often than usual
- Foamy or darker urine
- Muscle cramps
- Dry or itchy skin
- Trouble sleeping

Your nephrologist's advice about hydration and monitoring blood pressure is spot on — these are key tools for managing stage 3 CKD and slowing progression. Keep following that guidance and don't hesitate to bring up your symptoms at your next appointment!
