I found out few months ago I have stage 3 kidney disease. I am so tired all the time. Does this effect others. Thought it was depression so they used my dose of Prozac. My thyroid was also tested and it's fine😵

Members responding to the question about fatigue and stage 3 kidney disease overwhelmingly confirmed that exhaustion is one of the most difficult parts of living with CKD, with many sharing that napping throughout the day feels like the only real relief. Several members offered helpful strategies including taking Vitamin B12, timing activities for peak energy hours, getting iron levels and iron storage tested, and working with a hematologist for iron infusions. A recurring theme was frustration that doctors don't address fatigue enough, paired with warm gratitude for finding comfort and understanding within the community.

For me, the fatigue is the worst part of having CKD!

Yes fatigue is a horrible symptom & honestly it does bug me that the doctors do not offer any real help. Talk about quality of life is important to everyone. There should be a way to combat the feelings of fatigue but sadly it is just one of the issues with CKD that we deal with. You just cannot really fight it as it will only make your muscles & joints feel worse as well as dealing with confusion & dizzyness. Reading the comments here it seems most of us just feel that taking naps throughout the day is the only real way to deal with fatigue. I am at stage 4 and borderline stage 5 for me I deal with sleeping so much these days that it just makes me feel even more depressed. My doctor doubled my antidepressant prescription which does help. I just do not like the feeling of sleeping my life away.
I am very grateful to all of you for your support, suggestions & just feeling apart of this community of fellow CKD suffers. Love & big hugs to all

Fatigue is extremely affecting my days. I try not to give in to it, but it’s tough. I take a nap after lunch and rest when I can. I live alone and have 2 beautiful cats to take care of. They give me comfort and that helps my days.

I take Vitamin B12 and magnesium every day and it has helped with the fatigue immensely. Hasn’t totally gotten rid of it. Also try and do things when I have the most energy ie get groceries, have the grands over, go to lunch with friends as I have insomnia at times which compounds the problem
