Diet careful, as well as lifestyle. Only a potassium blood test for 3 month checkup. What else should I be asking for? Trying to be proactive.
Chk out PPK plantpower kidneys website also on u tube dadvice tv u may not need meds if no protein in urine no symptoms every Nephfrogist is different some approach are aggressive some are not
A renal dietician really helps too.
Thank you! My nephrologist seems to be somewhat conservative, but we´re getting to know one another.
I would strongly recommend you add a Nephrologist to your team if you don't have one on it yet. A Nephrologist speializes in kidney care. If you need dialysis or a kidney transplant, a Nephrologist would make that call. I also have an Endochronoligist on my team and she put me on Ozempic when I saw her the first time. The Endochronologist manages me diabetes. Unfortunately, I have a lot of complicated medical issues and I have a fairly large medical care team too. They all work together to keep me healthy.
My advice is see a renal dietician, they are a great resource.
My nephrologist also checks for phosphorus, sodium and does urine tests for blood and protein in the urine. That's been really informative. I have C3G CKD stage 4 which makes the protein check very relevant for me.
It seems everywhere I look for information a plant based diet is highly recommended.
