I can't help you regarding your upcoming surgery. Most surgeries today are done using a laparoscope which makes very small incisions. If that is how yours is being done you should get through it and healed by 6 to 8 weeks, maximum. Your surgeon should provide you with answers to all your questions. Unfortunately, I have had several surgeries but not the one you are going to have. None of the surgeries I had required more than 6 weeks off work. You may have some restrictions for a bit but your surgeon should answer that question.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. That must be overwhelming news to receive.

Unfortunately, the information available focuses on kidney disease management rather than kidney cancer surgery and recovery. These are different conditions that require different approaches.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. That must be overwhelming news to receive.

Unfortunately, the information available focuses on kidney disease management rather than kidney cancer surgery and recovery. These are different conditions that require different approaches.

For specific details about kidney cancer surgery, recovery time, and what to expect, you'll want to speak directly with your oncologist or urologist. They can explain:

* The type of surgery recommended for your situation
* Expected recovery timeline
* Post-surgery care instructions
* Any restrictions on activities

Your medical team will provide personalized guidance based on your specific diagnosis and overall health. Don't hesitate to write down your questions before appointments so you remember to ask everything that's on your mind.
