What does CRF stage 3a mean?

CRF (chronic renal failure) stage 3a is the same as stage 3a chronic kidney disease. It means your kidneys have mild to moderate damage and aren't filtering waste from your blood as well as they should.

At stage 3a, your eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate) is between 45 and 59. This number shows how well your kidneys are working - the lower the number, the more damage there is.

Your kidneys still function at this stage, but symptoms are likely to begin appearing. You may notice:
* Constantly feeling tired or weak
* Swelling in your face, hands, or feet
* Dry or itchy skin
* Muscle cramps
* Changes in how often you urinate
* Darker or foamy urine

The good news is that with proper management and lifestyle changes, you can slow the progression and keep your kidneys working. You won't need dialysis or a transplant at this stage.
